Youths in Nakuru County have been urged to make good use of the opportunities availed to them by the government.
Speaking in Nakuru on Tuesday, youth leader and chairman of Youth and Governance Dan Kimani Gitau said there are many government opportunities that youths need to engage in and empower themselves through.
While lauding the county government of Nakuru for considering youths in the tendering process, he said it is high time youths come out of their comfort zones and fight for their rights too as enshrined in the constitution.
“As youths, let us not just sit there and wait for county government jobs. We need to wake up from our comfort zones and act in an innovative way," said Kimani.
The Nakuru youth leader also lauded the county government for various ICT Hubs set up in various sub-counties.
He says this is a boost to the many innovative youths who can use the hubs to empower themselves.
Four months ago during the launch of the ICT hubs, Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui called on youths to embrace technology and use various opportunities on the internet to earn a living.
Speaking in Subukia when he officially launched the Subukia Innovation Hub, Governor Lee Kinyanjui said his government is committed towards youth empowerment.
