Politician Stanley Livondo has lashed out at politicians who have been poking holes into the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and its said possible referendum aftermath.
After its formation by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM boss Raila Odinga, the BBI taskforce has been crisscrossing the nation in search for answers to national political shortcomings.
However, the entire process has been facing opposition with Deputy President William Ruto and his allies claiming that it seeks to give positions to election losers.
However, Livondo has now taken issue with the group, likening them to false prophets who are spreading hate and propaganda about something whose content they don't know.
Speaking on Wednesday night, the former Lang'ata MP hopeful hit out at the group for spreading claims that the BBI task force will propose a referendum yet the report is not yet out.
"False prophets are claiming that the BBI will include this and that. They are walking around fighting a report which is not even out. They are already claiming that it seeks to allocate certain people seats (Manabii wa uwongo tayari wanasema BBI itakuwa na hii na ile na wanatembea wakiipinga na hata ripoti haijatoka. Tayari wanasema eti watu wanapewa viti)," he said on Radio Citizen's Jungu Kuu, a segment of the Porojo show.
The politician called for calm, urging Kenyans to be ready to accept whatever proposals the 14-member team will make, considering that it's composed of honourable Kenyans.
The politician gave examples of Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji and former Attorney General Amos Wako, both of whom are part of the team, saying that their inclusion makes it trustworthy.
"The people doing the job are honobrables; the likes of Haji and Wako, let's await their proposals (Wale wanaofanya ile kazi ni watu wanaoheshimiwa; watu kama Haji na Wako. Tungojee tuone wataleta nini)," he added.
