Gedi who is nursing serious injuries was brutally assaulted by her colleague Wajir East Member of Parliament Rashid Kassim after a misunderstanding over the budget allocations.

Ms Wanga came out shortly after the incidence pointing out that it cannot be a coincidence that Aden Duale hinted on scrapping off of Women Rep’s position, then a day later a women rep is badly assaulted in the parliament building.

“We do not want to believe it is by coincidence that the Majority leader yesterday termed women leaders as endangered species/flower girls and today a woman is assaulted,” said Wanga.

Aden Duale had called for Constitutional Reviews to cut off Women Rep and Senator positions, having described the women reps as endangered species, flower girls.

Women Reps remained together during this time singing solidarity songs as they call for justice. **They had to disrupt the 2019 Budget Reading by the Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.

Mr Kassim who reportedly punched Ms Gedi on the mouth, leaving her bleeding profusely, has been arrested and waiting to be charged.
