Police in Nyeri County are looking for a man accused of killing his estranged wife in Nyaribo village.

The man reportedly tracked the woman to a friend's house where she has been living and stabbed her to death at around 1am on Monday.

Confirming the incident, Nyeri Sub County Police Commander Paul Kuria said that the 24-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck.

Kuria said that police are yet to establish the reasons that led to the altercation before the killing, adding that they suspect they had domestic issues before partying ways.

The police boss added that the suspect has since gone into hiding, but a manhunt has been launched in a bid to nab and prosecute him.

"He took off as soon as he committed the act. We are currently looking for him," said Kuria as quoted by the Nation.

This comes at a time when another woman is nursing injuries at a county hospital after her husband allegedly stabbed her 17 times using a knife.

The accused later surrendered himself to police and is awaiting arraignment in court.
