Police in Borabu say there are 'fully prepared' to control expected huge crowd on Friday at Borabu where top national leaders are expected to share podium.
Nyansiongo OCPD Timothy Muasya and SSP James Mutua said the funeral ceremony for Mama Peninah Osero, mother to seasoned politician Patrick Osero, is expected to attract multitudes.
"We have prepared to handle a large number of supporters given that the funeral could be political. The beareved family requested for security and that is what we are doing. All those attending are guaranteed safety," Muasya said.
The DP, a close friend of Osero since their days in ODM and now in Jubilee, is expected to land at Nyansiongo at 10am where he will visit the family before joining all mourners.
Also, a top ODM official who requested anonymity, said Mr Odinga will make a brief stop over on his way to Kisumu on Friday given his close friendship with Osero family.
"The Deputy President will be among mourners. He is in communication with the family and we expect him on Friday very early," David Mokaya, his top aide from Gusii region said.
Also expected in the funeral is Fred Matiang'i, the powerful Interior Cabinet Secretary, whose home is few meters from The Osero's. He has been at loggerheads with the DP lately.
For Mr Odinga, he is credited for shaping Mr Osero's political career since 2007 and has finished closely second in the last two elections, losing to Wiper's Ben Momanyi.
