As the 60th National Films and Drama Festivals kicked off with a bang at Kibabii University, the young people showcased the vast talents they have.
Kenya Films Classification Board (KFCB) was the official sponsor of this year's National Films and Drama Festivals, Dr Ezekiel Mutua said best primary school stage play will receive a cash prize of Sh175,000.
He added that the best Primary feature film will pocket Sh175,000.
In the Secondary school's category, Dr.Mutua revealed that the best Secondary feature film will be awarded Sh175,000 among others.
Dr Mutua, the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) which is this year's title sponsor said that performing art is becoming one of the most influential development aspects of life in Africa.
Dr Mutua said that Niger is now the second contributor of Nigeria's economy and he challenged Drama festival organizer's and the Ministry of Education to guide the performers of this festival to realize that by helping the talented to make acting their careers they will be developing and building the nation.
The heavy cash prizes have rejuvenated the participants some vowing to outclass all in order to perform for the head of state.
Winners in the ongoing National event will be blessed to play for the Head of State President Uhuru Kenyatta.
