Ali alias Jicho Pevu named an institution after him, which will become a girls' school once it opens doors.

However, according to Kipkorir, the move was ill-advised, adding that it adds no significance in the overall perspective.

The move, Kipkorir added, does not make one great, arguing that great leaders never left anything in their names.

"Across ages & History, truly great & reformist leaders never left their names on any City, Street or building ... Some even left a Will that their bodies be buried in secret places so as not to be shrines .. But in Kenya, small tinpot dictators put their names on public projects," he said.

In a quick rejoinder,  Ali took a swipe at Kipkorir, using his usual metaphors to question the criticism.

"Bata hata umlishe kokoto bado atahara (even if you feed a duck, it cannot change). There is something we call public participation!" he said.

The Mohamed Ali Girls High School will open doors this Thursday and will be the first girl's school in Nyali since independence.
