A local publication recently claimed that Mr Odinga was keen to have the aspirants reaching a consensus on Thursday (yesterday), a claim which he has since dismissed.

Speaking on Wednesday at the newly renovated ODM headquarters at Lavington, Mr Odinga called for sobriety among the 10 candidates.

He asked them to compete freely, adding that after the nominations, the participants should embrace one another and support the winning team.

"All these people are my boys. They are our ambassadors. Let them face one another. The nominations will be free and fair. After the exercise, they should embrace.

"I have talked to all of them and we have agreed certain matters. I am very happy that they have understood what we are saying. Let nobody claim that we have dished out tickets," he added.

National Elections Board chair Judith Pareno said the nominations will go on as planned, adding that all IEBC polling stations shall be open for voting.

Already, Jubilee party has fielded McDonald Mariga while ANC has picked Eliud Owalo. Ford Kenya party unveiled Ramadhan Khamisi as flag bearer.

The main polls shall be held on November 7 with ODM hopeful of filling the gap left by Ken Okoth, who was serving his second term on the party's ticket.
