Former Vihiga county Governor Moses Akaranga has shown interest in vying for Football Kenya Federation (FKF) presidency.

The elections for the country's football governing body are expected to be conducted between October and February next year.

Akaranga said that he believes Kenya has the best-talented footballers who can make the nation shine in international tournaments. 

" Very soon am going to announce my candidature for Football Kenya Federation presidency position. I feel the country is blessed with immense talents that can propel us to international football and claim our space"  the ex-county boss said as quoted by Daily Nation.

Akaranga has established three clubs that have tapped talents and performed well which includes Vihiga United, Vihiga bullets and Vihiga Queens.

Vihiga bullets were recently promoted to Football Kenya Federation National Super League while the Vihiga Queens competes in top Women premier league. 

The Vihiga United football club was relegated after trailing in the last season's Sportpesa Kenya Premier League.

The current FKF president Nick Mwendwa has also shown interest in serving for the second term of four years.
