Consequently, the region has made him their ultimate political decision maker whose request is more like an order, including proposing leaders for the elective seats.

But this has at some point been threatened by some youthful politicians who went ahead to give Raila a scare or are doing so currently. Here they are.

1. David Ochieng

The former Ugenya parliamentary hopeful will undoubtedly be a frontrunner in the approaching by-election set for April 5 on his Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) parry ticket.

The race that will see him fight against his successor Chris Karan of Raila's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

So much has Ochieng scared Raila that he recently begged area residents to side with his candidate and not embarrass him by electing Ochieng.

Raila made the remarks during the burial ceremony of former Senior Chief Daudi Owino Olak in Ugenya on Saturday.

2. Eddy Oketch

The former Migori senatorial aspirant in the September 2018 by-election shook the Orange party and Raila to the core.

He did it to an extent that Raila was personally forced to camp in the county for days to drum up support for the party candidate Ochillo Ayacko.

He lost to Ayacko with a thin margin which was not expected in a region considered a Raila's stronghold.

He was allegedly enjoying the backing of Deputy President William Ruto and area Governor Okoth Obado, claims he denied.
