A statement released by the county's health department indicate that the government is embarking on a 5-day UHC mop-up exercise which will run from Wednesday 23rd January 2019 to January 28, 2019, to cater for potential registrants.

“The mop-up exercise will target mostly those who failed to give details of their dependants in the previous exercise, missed registration while those who have no national identification card can do so with a letter from the Chief's office,” reads a section of the Statement released by the county government.

“And beneficiaries without a Birth certificate will register under their dependents. The exercise will take place in all Public Health facilities, Assistant Chief’s offices and major public places e.g. Markets, bus stops, public primary schools and churches,” adds the statement.

The pilot phase of UHC is being implemented in Kisumu, Isiolo, Machakos and Nyeri Counties.

The success of the pilot programme in the four counties will give way for the full-scale rollout of UHC, across the Country.

The programme was officially launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Kisumu last month.
