African Union High Representative on Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga on Wednesday evening held a meeting with DRC President Felix Tshisekedi at Safari Park Hotel.

 The Former Prime Minister, who has vowed to work with Uhuru before he completes his second and final term in office, revealed that he discussed a range of issues with Tshisekedi.

 He said that the discussion revolved around infrastructure and the role the nation has continued to play as far as infrastructure is concerned.  

Raila was accompanied by his daughter Winnie Odinga and Kisumu Senator Anyang Nyong’o during the meeting. He later took to social media to share details of the meeting.

“Met with President Felix Tshisekedi for a discussion that centered on Infrastructure in Africa and the key role of the DRC which is located at the heart of the Trans Africa rail and highway networks,” he said.

Raila also said that they talked about energy production in this nation and Africa in general.

"We also touched on the importance of sufficient energy generation on the continent and how this leads to faster overall development for all our people," he added.

The meeting comes at a time Kenya is hosting several world leaders who have travelled to attend the United Nations Summit in Nairobi. 

President Uhuru Kenyatta welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron.

The leaders assured their countrymen of cordial business ties.
