A Form One girl from Kapnyeberai Girls High School broke down into tears when she first met Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, who was touring the institution for the first time.

Joy Cherono is seen wiping her tears as she leans on the governor, who supports her education. Mr Sang supports many children across the county and even doubles as their guardian despite not knowing all of them.

"When we touch lives, we fulfil God's promise. As a guardian I am glad to have met one of my daughters, Joy Cherono, a form one student at Kapnyeberai Girls High School," tweeted Sang.

Under the new constitutional dispensation, only ECDE is devolved to counties. However, many counties have come with bursary schemes which targets secondary school students.

The vocal governor is a key political player for Deputy President William Ruto and in recent times, he has openly questioned President Uhuru Kenyatta's commitment towards supporting the DP's 2022 quest.

Earlier, Mr Sang, who served as the first senator of the county, had visited various infrastructures, making a final stop at Kaptumo Sub County Hospital.

"Visited Kaptumo Sub County Hospital to check on its operations. Measures are in place to ensure we increase access to quality Healthcare services through operationalizing some of the facilities at the hospital," he wrote
