According to a letter seen by this writer from Nchogu, Omwanza and Nyasimi Co. and Advocates, Governor Abdi Mohammed submitted questionable credentials to the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to get cleared prior to the 2017 gubernatorial elections.

The above-mentioned law firm has since written to Kampala University seeking clarification on the governor's alleged credentials from the institution of higher learning.

"We hereby request your good office to supply us with particulars of information concerning the above-referred person who was allegedly a student in your institution. Kindly supply us with the following information; whether the person was indeed a bonafide student at your institution. If so, whether he completed his studies and indeed graduated from your institution,” the letter in part reads.

The governor now joins the list of currently serving politicians whose credentials are under investigation.

Other county bosses whose certificates have been challenged include Governor Ali Korane of Garissa, Mombasa's Hassan Ali Joho and Kiambu's Ferdinand Waititu among others.
