Speaking on Wednesday, the legislator hit out at Nyando Member of Parliament Jared Okello who on Tuesday told him to stop interfering with Nyong'o's leadership.

He said that he will continue questioning the usage of county funds which lies well within his mandate as senator, and should not be seen as attacking Nyong'o.

“I am exercising my role as a senator, it is my job to protect the interests of counties, let nobody misinterpret this as an attack on the governor," he was quoted by the Nation.

Speaking at the Senate last Thursday, Outa placed the governor on the spot over allegations of presiding over a county government marred with cases of embezzlement of county coffers.

The Senator claimed that under Nyong'o's leadership, funds for the Kenya Urban Project (KUP) have been misappropriated.

However, on Tuesday, Okello said that Outa's unending attacks on the governor amount to politicking, which is in turn raising political temperatures in the county.

But Outa has rubbished the remarks from the MP who doubles up as his successor as baseless.
