Talking to this writer at the Institution, Emmanuel Shikuku, a 3rd-year student pursuing a Degree in Education, explained that he had placed a Sh5,000 bet on Kylian Mbappe to score during the match.

He further added that the option had odds of 2.5 in Betin ( a betting company), which gave him Sh10,500.

"We all know Kylian Mbappe is a very good player. He is very fast and perfect with the ball. I had everything it takes to believe he would score against Manchester United in their first leg match in the UEFA Champions League," the student expressed jovially.

When he was asked how he intended to spend the money, he told this writer that he will use the cash to clear his fee balance.

"I will use this money to pay my school fees. Let me say Kylian Mbappe has just paid my school fees," Shikuku said in laughter.

Kylian Mbappe's goal helped Paris Saint Germain (PSG) to beat Manchester United in a hotly contested tie at Old Trafford, ahead of the return leg in a fortnight.

Despite injuries to key players in Neymar and Cavani, the world cup winner had a brilliant performance which helped the French side see off an in-form Manchester.
