Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has given details on why President Uhuru Kenyatta was angry on Sunday when addressing an Akorino event.
The MP, a member of team 'Kieleweke' noted that Uhuru's anger was justified and his remarks were directed to their rivals team 'Tangatanga'.
In a post on his official Facebook page; Wambugu said the head of state had earlier called them to the statehouse where he warned them against premature politics.
Unfortunately, the MP says, the prior warning was not heeded to as some of the politicians have been busy campaigning across Mt Kenya Region.
"The ‘ground’ is certainly not happy. I think it is because as leaders, we are not doing what we were elected to do. Unfortunately, some leaders are inciting people against gov't. This is what angers the president because he expects us to be his foot soldiers," Wambugu noted in part of his Facebook post.
He further claimed that the team allied to Deputy President William Ruto has launched various projects that were not allocated funds in the budget, thus making Uhuru fume.
'I wish all of us would stop with the politics so that we look at where the projects have stalled and how to move forward without looking like some regions are being favoured over others," said the MP.
