Uhuru has been at the on the limelight after his attacks on a section of Jubilee Party members, whom he viciously bashed for engaging in premature politics on Sunday.

Speaking on Wednesday, Njomo noted that Uhuru has since apologised for his tirade, and actually did it immediately after making his speech at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.

He urged Kenyans to now shift their attention from the debate, saying that its no longer important, as Uhuru has since acknowledged that he might have been too harsh.

"He has apologised, hiyo maneno imeisha (the debate is over). He said he is sorry for speaking in anger after the speech (Alipomaliza alisema pole, nimeongea kama nimekasirika)," he said.

Njomo made the remarks during an interview on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday morning, also attended by Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri.

He, too, defended Uhuru's remarks and fury, observing that the head of state was frustrated as a result of his repeated calls for political calm, calls that have landed on deaf ears.

He added that the remarks were directed at a single or small group of people, and not the entire Mt Kenya region.

"Maybe one or two people angered the president. Therefore, when he spoke at Kasarani he was not adressing all Mt Kenya people (Labda kuna mtu mmoja ama wawili waliomkasirisha rais kwa hivyo alipoongea Kasarani hakuwa anaambia watu wote wa Mt Kenya)," he added.
