Outspoken lawyer Miguna Miguna has hit out at Siaya Senator James Orengo after he encouraged President Uhuru Kenyatta not to give up on his agenda of transforming the country.
Speaking during a fundraiser in Siaya County on Friday, Orengo asked Uhuru to ignore his critics and use his handshake with ODM leader Raila Odinga to ensure his intended reforms succeed.
"I want to encourage the President to continue with the reform process. The handshake is based on the need and requirement to bring reforms and change. He should not be worried by those who are standing on his way. Forward ever backward never," he said.
The Senate Minority Leader spoke during a fundraiser for over 200 women groups organized by Siaya women Representative Dr. Christine Ombaka.
Reacting to the remarks, Miguna revisited the 2017 electionering period and lashed out at the Senator for 'praising' Uhuru who allegedly brutalised and murdered ODM supporters who protested his disputed reelection.
"The Lyrical Sycophant in The Kebaka Yekkah Court, cheering up an African despot. Mr. James Orengo, you are a sell-out, a traitor and a disgraceful advocate. The despot you are praising tear-gassed you, broke the limbs and murdered thousands of Kenyans in 2017/18," Miguna tweeted.
Orengo, who was Uhuru's fiercest critic during his first term in office, became the President's vocal defender following the March 9, 2018 peace deal him (Uhuru) and his foe-turned-ally Raila.
