ODM leader Raila Odinga on Friday snubbed rants from Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen over Building Bridges Initiative.
Murkomen, who attended the funeral of Dorcas Ajwang', mother to Senator Moses Kajwang' and Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang', accused Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta of having a hidden agenda on BBI.
He claimed that had the report been straight forward, both Uhuru and Raila should have handed it over to Parliament.
"Let Raila and Uhuru tell us if it is a parliamentary system or presidential system that they want instead of taking Kenyans round in circles. Hon Raila, you and the President have numbers in Parliament to ensure what you want can pass in Parliament but it is unpleasant to take Kenyans round and round with this BBI report," he stated.
Murkomen said extending the term of the BBI task force was a clear demonstration that Raila and Uhuru had a "secret agenda" with the report.
"Stop wasting our time with another round of public participation on the BBI," he said.
However, when he spoke Raila did not respond to Murkomen, only insisting that the BBI report will be implemented after the second round of picking opinions.
Raila said at least 500 people per county will be given the opportunity to give their opinion about the report before it goes to the next level.
However, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna hit out at Murkomen, accusing him of giving Uhuru and Raila unnecessary timelines.
“It is wrong for Murkomen to tell Raila and Uhuru that you must do this or that in the BBI report,” Sifuna opined.
