Political analyst Prof Herman Manyora has cast doubt in the reignited war on graft which has seen a number of state officials arrested over alleged corrupt dealings.
The latest casualty was Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu who was on Sunday arrested over alleged involvement in corruption using his position as the county boss.
Manyora now says that the arrest lacks significance, predicting that just like the recent ones, it will not make any progress and the county boss will soon be free.
"Its' the kamatakamata season. All this is just drama as the culprits will be arrested then released (Ni msimu wa kamatakamata, haya yote ni kama sarakasi maanake wahusika wa ufisadi watashikwa kisha waachiliwe)," he said.
He made the remarks on KTN News' Kanda Za Siasa show on Sunday evening.
Waititu apprehended alongside several other people, including his spouse Susan Wangare Ndungu, and are set to be arraigned in court on Monday.
Waititu has been on the run since Friday when the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji issued his arrest order.
His arrest follows that of former National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich and his Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge who were nabbed on Monday last week.
The two who have been implicated in the Arror and Kimwarer dam scandals were later released on bail on Tuesday.
