Controversial Nairobi human rights activist Boniface Mwangi has exposed a student leader from a local university who has been brutally assaulting his girlfriend.
Mwangi shared the story sent to him by Lydia Kemunto, the assault victim, on his Facebook pages so that the lady receives justice.
Kemunto revealed that her younger relationship had turned sour all caused by the boyfriend identified as Neville Jakababa.
Jakababa, who is a student leader at Technical University of Kenya (TUK) where he serves as the Secretary-General, has been assaulting her severally for the past six months they have been together as lovers.
She said she had been beaten at least three times within the six months of dating, the recent one happening on last weekend where she ended up bleeding due to injuries inflicted on her.
Kemunto indicated that she had already reported the matter to the police.
"My name is Lydia Kemunto. I have been in an abusive relationship for the past 6 months. I have been brutally beaten by my boyfriend on three occasions and the most recent one happened on Saturday. The guy’s name is Neville Jakababa, Technical University, Secretary General of the students union. I reported to Industrial Area Police Station. This is not the first assault being reported from universities. Last week, a similar case was reported at the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) where two boy students reportedly assaulted another boy in a love triangle.
