There is a looming crisis in DP Ruto's camp of the Jubilee party over the recent controversial VAT bill that Duale lobbied for.
According to a source from Duale's circles, his role in the legislative house on the fateful Thursday did not go well with DP Ruto who is on record saying that parliament would not pass the bill as it was.
Just days before the passing of the VAT bill, the DP was coy about the implications of the increase in the fuel price on citizens, vaguely saying that the executive and the legislature would work together in resolving the crisis that is envisaged to degenerate in near future even as motorists and allied workers threatened to down their tools in protest over the bill.
On his part, the Garissa Township MP and Majority Leader Aden Duale did all he could to ensure the bill is passed as it was.
Allegations have emerged on how he apparently 'locked some MPs in toilets' to ensure that they do not participate in the voting exercise.
A day later, Duale took to his social media page justifying his actions in supporting his conduct over the poll.
He even stated that he had no regrets in lobbying for the controversial bill.
On his part, DP Ruto has remained tongue-tied over the issue.
This, has been speculated as a sign of humiliation on his part given the fact that he was not for the adoption of the VAT bill as it was.
His view was that the bill needed to be reviewed before being taken to the house for possible adoption or even rejection.
The VAT bill has since been signed by President Kenyatta and it is now fully operational.
