A somber mood engulfed a village in Molo after a woman tripped and fell off a train bridge dying on the spot.
The woman was using the bridge which connects Molo and Michina area when the incident happened.
Witnessed said they saw the woman tumbling down and it was not clear what happened.
There were other conflicting reports, however, claiming that she was under the influence of alcohol.
This writer's efforts to reach the Kenya Railways' management for a comment were futile as we could not reach their spokesperson.
Edwin Onyancha, an elder in the area, cautioned residents using the bridge to be careful stating that it's tyrods, angle brazing and nuts have been vandalized making it risky to use.
The Nakuru-Kisumu line bridges were built in late 1900 and marked for a lifespan of 150 years.
Vandalism has, however, left them in bad shape.
Onyancha urged those neighboring the bridge to embrace community policing and report those destroying it since it is of help to residents.
