Sakina Mariam Abdalla, mother of Ali Salim Gichunge, one of the slain terrorists who attacked DusitD2 Hotel complex in Nairobi on January 15 has been charged with aiding the attack.
Abdalla was arraigned before Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi on Friday and charged with failing to disclose information relating to a terrorist act contrary to section 41 (1) and (2) of the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2012.
The suspect was also charged with abetting and aiding Dusit D2 attack that left 21 people dead.
According to the charge sheet read to the suspect in court, on diverse dates between 2015 and 2019 at Kula Mawe in Isiolo county, she breached her duty to disclose information pertaining to the whereabouts of Ali Salim Gichunge, information which was within her knowledge and which would have been used to prevent commission of a terrorist attack, ‘Dusit attack’.
