A furious President Uhuru Kenyatta sensed betrayal by friends and government officials, reports the Standard.
For months now, Uhuru has been pushing for crackdown against corrupt elements and has since acknowledged of losing friends.
"I have been called by friends with some asking why I could watch their house being demolished," he said at a church service.
In the spirit of Building Bridges initiative, Uhuru has diverted his energy in graft war, which could also define his legacy along with Big Four agenda.
And on Friday, a frustrated Uhuru is said to have held two urgent meetings with detectives at State House and Harambee House following a report by Muilti-Agency Task Team which implicated a number of his friends.
"The President feels betrayed by people who he trusted in government. Instead, they have been implicated in the secret dossier and he feels betrayed," a source told the Standard.
The latest purge could yet again see senior government officials arrested in connection with graft which is slowly taking shape.
Last Wednesday, a source says, the MATT detectives seized Sh500 million in one of the aide to a senior politician.
