President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have not fulfilled the promises they made to the people of Kenya when seeking re-election in 2017, former Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo has said.
In an interview on NTV on Tuesday, Midiwo opined that Uhuru and his team claimed that they will transform the nation because they are young but nothing is forthcoming. He said that the current state of affairs indicates that Uhuru has failed the country in different ways.
He further hit out at Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, arguing that leaders are out having fun when the taxpayers are suffering back at home. The former lawmaker said that time has come for the country to retrace its steps for the sake of the empowerment of the people.
“Jubilee has failed, they came in folding sleeves saying that they were young. Look at Sonko dancing in France is that the youth they were talking about?" he said.
He also said that he supports the parliamentary system of government because it gives the people a chance to be heard.
“It has always been my opinion that Kenya shall never be peaceful without a parliamentary system where everyone has a say,” he said.
He, however, hit out at the current leadership in the country, arguing that the leaders are too selfish to promote development in their backyards.
