With the 2022 succession debate taking center stage, Kisumu will be among counties to watch out for in the anticipated election.

Political heavy weights in the county are already focusing their eyes on various political seats in 2022.

Here are four politicians expected to drive the succession politics in Kisumu County. 

1. Ruth Odinga 

The former Kisumu deputy governor will have a big voice in the county succession politics owing to her political influence.

Ruth is expected to lead campaigns for his brother Raila Odinga should he opt to contest the presidency in 2022.

2. Rosa Buyu 

The Woman Representatives’ political influence is steadily rising, making her one of the politicians to watch out for in Kisumu. 

3. Anyang' Nyong’o

The first term ODM governor is likely to face stiff competition in bid to defend his seat in 2022 polls.

A part from defending his seat, Nyong’o will be expected to drum up support for the Orange party especially if Raila’s name will be on the presidential ballot. 

4. Fred Outa 

The Senator is among vocal opposition politicians in the Nyanza region, and is expected to play a key role in Raila's 2022 campaigns should he opt to contest the presidency.

4. Jack Ranguma

The former governor is still a political force to reckon with in Kisumu politics. Ranguma is likely to make an attempt for the county top seat in the  2022 election.
