An elderly man committed suicide on Monday evening at Nyabikondo Village, Rioma Sub-location in Kisii County for what is said to be family differences.
Confirming the incident area sub-chief Mr Evans Obegi said Joseph Onchiri was found hanging in one of his houses at around 5 pm.
Obegi has appealed to various families to solve their differences using proper channels instead of killing themselves
“Let families report to relevant authorities when issues arise to solve differences instead of committing suicide," sais Obegi.
"We are their leaders and we are ready to listen to help them find solutions before thinking of killing themselves," he added.
The deceased body was taken to Nyangena Mortuary in Kisii town as police launch investigations to know the cause of the death.
