Nakuru East Sub-county administrators have vowed not to relent in the fight against the outlawed groups terrorizing members of the public in the area.
Addressing the press during a security consortium meeting held at Menengai Social Hall in the Sub-county on Tuesday, they called on the locals to cooperate with security agencies in the crackdown of criminals in Nakuru East Sub-county and its environs.
The Sub-county's assistant county commissioner one, John Kichwer led the administrators in the meeting held courtesy of Catholic Justice and Peace Commission in collaboration with Jamii Thabiti.
According to the administrators, the crackdown on illegal groupings is not meant in any way to victimize anyone in the society.
Kichwer warned parents against shielding individuals and groupings causing harm to the society.
He said the law will catch up with them.
“We want to work closely with the community in matters of security and we will not relent in the fight against illegal groupings. Let parents shielding criminal groupings be warned,” Kichwer said.
His sentiments were echoed by assistant county commissioners Patrick Omuse and Elijah Mutemi of Municipality and Lanet respectively.
Catholic Justice and Peace Commission, Nakuru branch representative Esther Mburu said they will continue working with all stakeholders in ensuring that security is enhanced in the sub-county.
“We are committed in ensuring that the society is secure through reporting issues that affect residents such as criminal groupings so that they are addressed on time,” Mburu said.
"It should be noted that issues of criminal groupings have been reported severally in various slum areas of Nakuru East and Nakuru West sub-counties. Such initiatives will help address the same," she added.
