The men and women of cloth said the girl child has is always given priority leaving the boy child to suffer.

Led by Rev. Patrick Ekai of Gospel Ministry, they said the move has seen many male children engaging in illegal activities including drunkenness and drug abuse.

“We are raising alarm on the manner in which the boy child has been neglected and something has to be done,” Ekai said.

According to the pastors, boys engaging in such vices have contributed to the continued aspects of insecurity in the area.

They called on the government and NGOs to value equality as far as both the girl and boy child is concerned.
