Exam cheating in universities has become a trend.

As institutions of learning tighten the noose on this malpractise, comrades have gone deeper to beat

The most employed tactics these days is impersonation and using phones tucked in the most unexpected places.

Dubbed "Mwakenya", comrades find it had to enter into an exam room without penning some notes somewhere just incase things just evaporates.

Mwakenya is not a hindu word, neither a Greek word. It is a swahili name. Some students call it a "soft copy" while others refer to it as a "back up copy."

In a layman's language,  Mwakenya is primarily characterized by a small piece of paper written all over it.

On the paper, it contains a section of notes written in short form that can only be understood and interpreted by the owner.

Usually, during exam time, students with "mwakenyas" have devised tricks to go unnoticed. They often insert those small pieces of papers in between the answer booklet and upon pasting everything, they can resort to chew it or pass them to their needy colleagues

Scribbling on the desk, shoes and hands is another game played by comrades.

In most cases, a student will scribble anything that he or she thinks might feature in the exam.

Others use their smartphones to google for answers as the invigilators hawks around the exam room. How they get the courage to do that leaves one amazed.

If the invigilator is the tough guy known for sending comrades to the senate for disciplinary action, comrades will not dare enter the exam room with any foreign material. However, if the don tries to get out even for a second, cheaters will exchange exam booklets and fill for each other.
