This is after the third year Linguistics, Media and Communication student was arrested in Iten town after he was caught allegedly sleeping with a 15-year-old school girl in a guest room.

Apparently, the girl was still in primary school.

The then Keiyo North Administration Police (AP) Commandant Joseph Biwott confirmed the incident saying the 25-year-old Emmanuel Keter was seen booking into the lodging with the class five pupil the previous day.

Area residents, on seeing the university student enter a lodging with the minor alerted the police who arrived on time to nab the comrade.

The 'innocent' pupil was rescued by the residents as the student was taken away by the police.

Constitutionally, the age of consent in the country is 18. By definition, the age of consent is the minimum age at which an individual is considered legally old enough to consent to participate in sexual activity.

It was therefore illegal for the comrade to sleep with the 15-year-old girl.
