According to the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Jacob Ondari who is the lead prosecutor in the trial, witness statements and exhibits have been supplied to Obado’s defence lawyers.

Ondari said that most of the witnesses would give oral evidence in court.

“We have lined up 30 witnesses against the three accused persons, and we are ready for trial,” Ondari told court on Wednesday.

The prosecution insists that it has a strong case against the accused persons.

The DPP in his strong evidence says he is pushing for a death penalty against the three accused persons.

The Court has since freed Governor Obado on Sh5 Million bail.

Justice Lessit, however, declined to grant bail to Obado’s aides, noting that the evidence against them is strong.

The two have vowed to appeal the ruling terming it selective.

Last month, the trio denied killing Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby.
