The patience that accompanies long spells of waiting is a virtue that not everyone possesses.

Is there a story unfolding in your community? Let Hivisasa know

Even when it is linked to faith and religion, children of God can only go to the extent their hearts can take them and nothing more.

A toddler waiting for the mother to come back has the limit to which this patience can reach, after which the neighbours will have no peace because of wails and cries for Mooooother!

For over 2000 years, the Christian church has been in the wait for one such person: Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Perhaps Christ was taking too long to come. The people of Kawangware cannot wait for more than 2000 years.

It was then that five years ago self-declared prophetess Mary Sinaida Torcas Akatsa made special arrangements with heaven for the 'Son of Mary' to come see his people.

The Jesus who came to Nairobi did not choose his old Palestine cities of Jericho or Jerusalem in Nairobi's Eastlands.

Perhaps because he wanted to have a feel of the Luhya ugali, the Jesus chose to come to the church in the dusty streets of Kawangware where his mother's namesake Mary Akatsa and her followers patiently waited at their Jerusalem Church of Christ.

He did not come as a thief though. That would have landed him a thorough beating from Nairobians who were going through tough times as the government channeled funds to the SGR, got robbed by politicians, and left citizens hungry.

So the white Jesus wearing robes and no shoes arrived. Some church members fainted when they beheld this holiness.

This was in fulfillment of an earlier prophesy by the prophetess who had promised her people that Jesus would indeed come to them.

That day, many people in Kawangware were healed. Akatsa only needed to slap your head with the holy books and shout 'Riswa!' in the presence of the barefoot Jesus; and just like that, you got healed!
