Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut has castigated those accusing Deputy President William Ruto of being a corrupt leader.
In a tweet on Thursday, Chepkut told off the deputy president's critics who opine that the problems bedevilling the government and the ruling party Jubilee were attributed to Ruto.
The first-time lawmaker dismissed those painting the deputy president in a bad light by linking him to the corruption scandals that have rocked the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led administration, arguing that they have been deceived.
Chepkut further hit out at those singling out the DP as the only corrupt leader in the country, terming them fools.
"When you tell me that the problem with this government is Ruto and only Ruto, that is where you lose me," read part of the MP's tweet.
"When you are made to believe that only William Ruto is corrupt in this country, you are an incorrigible fool," he added.
Speaking during the National Prayer Breakfast at Safari Park Hotel on Thursday, Ruto warned politicians against theft of public funds, noting that the fight against corruption is also a spiritual one as the Bible warns against stealing.
"We must rid ourselves, our government, our institutions and our nation of theft, wastage and corruption," said Ruto.
The DP further pledged to support investigative agencies in their quest to slay the corruption dragon in the country.
