Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung'wa has said that the ruling Jubilee Party remains strong and is nowhere near collapsing as is being claimed by party critics.
Speaking in Kiserian in Kajiado on Sunday, the vocal parliamentarian stated that anyone anticipating the party's collapse is a busybody awaiting an impossibility.
The lawmaker who was in the company of a number of fellow Jubilee politicians also said that the party is not interested in empty political talk without any developmental effect.
“We do not want to expose the country to constant political debates that add no value to its development,” said Ichung'wa who accompanied Deputy President William Ruto.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro termed Jubilee a national party in which every interested Kenyan is welcome, adding that things are calm between Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He said that the unity between the two, who are party leader and his deputy respectively, was confirmed by Uhuru during his meeting with Mt Kenya politicians in Nyeri on Friday.
“The President and the Deputy President are one, and that was confirmed by Kenyatta last week in the Sagana meeting," said the youthful parliamentarian.
Area governor Joseph Ole Lenku, Jayne Kihara (Naivasha), Gabriel Tongoyo (Narok West), George Sunkuiya (Kajiado West), Joseph Manje (Kajiado North) and Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira) were also present.
Others were David Gikaria (Nakuru East) and Rahab Mukami (Nyeri), who declared their support for Uhuru and Ruto as their leaders.
