Over the weekend, Jumwa twisted a gospel song by making it look like a song to worship Deputy President William Ruto, a move that irked many social media users.

The fiery MP went on to demand the resignation of Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i’s over the gold scam saga.

She claimed that Matiang’i allowed the General Service Unit (GSU) to guard the homes of those implicated in the scandal.

“How can you use the General Service Unit to safeguard the home of those involved in the criminal activity?” she posed as quoted by the Nation.

And on Tuesday, lawyer Kipkorir said the decision by Jumwa to replace the name of God with that of Ruto in the song, amounted to blasphemy.

"Aisha Jumwa confessed to believing in sorcery ... God says He will turn away from those that consult Mediums & Spirits ... And Jesus said that one unforgivable sin is Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit ... In replacing the name of God with a politician in a Hymn, Aisha BLASPHEMED," he noted.

In March, ODM National Governing Council ratified a decision to kick out the MP out of the party. She has, however, appealed to Political Parties Dispute Tribunal.

Jumwa was first elected as Woman Representative for Kilifi County before going for Malindi constituency race in 2017. She has expressed a desire to work with DP Ruto.
