A class eight pupil of Makairo Primary on Tuesday morning was forced to take her morning Kenya Certificate for Primary Education Education (KCPE] exams from her hospital bed as she started to experience labor pains few minutes before the exams kicked off.
The invigilators led by Mr Enock Ondieki said they had rehearsed ready to start their Mathematics exams when the girl started complaining of stomach pains.
“We were forced to rush the candidate identified as Irene Kemuma to Bosiango dispensary where she was admitted and as she started to take her paper she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy," Ondieki said.
The invigilator further added that she was stable enough to take the morning paper few minutes after giving birth and that she would still sit for the remaining papers.
Despite the morning incident the area examination officer Dancan Makori confirmed that there is no other incident that has been reported from any other exam center in the area as exams are currently on progress.
“We are glad that despite the morning rains all is going well and we believe the exams will end on the scheduled tie as there are no other incidents reported," said Makori
