A middle-aged woman from Suneka area narrowly escaped death from her agitated relatives after she allegedly sold her 6-month-old child.
According to the area Chief Joseph Mosumari the woman Dorcas Banchiri sold the child a week ago and lied to her parents and close relatives that the child had gone missing while she was fetching water.
“The woman sold her baby to a local primary school teacher who reported to me that she didn’t steal the baby but had bought it from the woman at Sh8000," said Mosumari.
“I arrived on time and found that some of her relatives had started beating her up but together with the police rescued her and she is currently admitted at Nyangena hospital,” said Mosumari.
The chief warned all the women from the area to abstain from such acts since they may land them in jail.
