Members of Parliament allied to the Amani National Congress Party (ANC) have been warned against associating with the Jubilee Party.
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi on Sunday said the MPs risk disciplinary action should they continue violating party rules and associate with another political party.
"As a party leader I have already warned my MPs who are joining Jubilee not to pretend that they are in government," he told the Nation in an interview.
"Jubilee's objective is to create an environment of political goodwill to enable them to implement their agenda and plans," he added.
He said ANC party principles are clear that no member is expected to associate in any way with a different political party unless with express permission from the party top leadership.
Mudavadi is on the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 as he has already expressed interest in vying for the presidency in 2022.
He is on a countrywide tour mode as he tries to bolster support for his party with a majority following in the Western region.
The ANC leader has recently been critical of both the Jubilee administration and opposition chief Raila Odinga since the famous handshake between Raila and Uhuru at Harambee House Nairobi.
The former Sabatia MP is confident of winning the presidency in 2022.
