A section of the party leaders led by chairman John Mbadi on Friday made remarks in an attempt to have Uhuru back the party boss Raila Odinga's presidential dreams, during a burial function in Ratta, Kisumu County.

Weda notes that "Uhuru will not be leaving power for anybody, the people will elect their leader. Nobody will leave power for anybody, power will be taken."

Speaking on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation show on Wednesday the High Court Advocate observed that ODM's only option is kicking off preparations ahead of the elections, failure to which it will again lose in 2022.

He also detected some degree of insincerity in its mode of politicking, questioning the party's sudden change of heart towards the President.

"How do they expect Uhuru's support yet they were fighting him. They are again fighting Ruto (Deputy President William Ruto) now. They should harness everyone if they want power," noted noted

Raila has, however, not at any point declared interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta.
