The county boss assured that 39000 students from all the 45 wards in the county including students from secondary schools, middle-level colleges, vocational training centres and universities will get a share of the money.

According to the ODM governor, the beneficiaries include 3,000 middle-level college students who have been given Sh15 million, county, extra-county and national schools will share over Sh96 million.

Further, Ongwae confirmed that over 4, 000 students from universities will get a share of Sh19 million while Sh5 million will be awarded to students who have enrolled at the various vocational training centres.

He challenged the benefiting students to work diligently and post impressive performance as this is the only way to realise value for the tax payer’s money.

"My government is doing everything possible to boost the levels of education by paying school fees for needy but bright students. Learners must work hard towards achieving good grades and marks," he stated.

The county chief also appealed to teachers not to boycott classes and commit themselves to educate learners.
