Former Kathiani legislator Wavinya Ndeti has condoled with the families of 14 persons who perished in a grisly accident along Thika-Garissa highway in Matuu, Machakos County.
The accident which occurred at around 5 a.m involved a bus and a lorry.
Yatta police commander Joseph Njoroge Karanja confirmed the incident.
Ndeti said that she is in solidarity with the deceased families during this moments of trial
"My heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who perished following the tragic road crash on the Nairobi bound bus this morning at Matuu, Machakos County. May God give you the fortitude to bear the loss,” she said through her Twitter handle.
Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has also sent his message of condolence to the families of the deceased.
He said that the death is not only a big blow to the families but also the entire nation.
He urged motorists from different parts of the country to obey traffic rules while driving.
“Appalled by the news of an accident involving a Nairobi-bound passenger bus at Matuu, Machakos County. We mourn & pray with the bereaved families & wish quick recovery to those injured. I urge motorists to be cautious & follow traffic rules to avoid unnecessary deaths & injuries,” he said.
