A middle-aged woman has been arraigned in court and charged with allegedly threatening to kill a Wajir based politician.

The suspect, Maleey Batool Asif Hassan appeared before Makadara Chief Magistrate Eston Nyaga on Monday.

She pleaded not guilty to two counts of threatening to kill Hussein Mohamed.

The suspect is said to have threatened to kill the Wajir politician on January 24 at the Nairobi hospital.

The court heard that the suspect allegedly told Mr Hussein 'I will kill you' after she took his photos using her mobile phone.

She pleaded with the court to be released on lenient bond and bail terms.

Batool told court that she is a single mother and jobless.

The court released her on a Sh30, 000 cash bail.
