Only the family of ailing Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso can disclose her health conditions, Deputy Governor Hillary Barchok has said.

At Mulot on Sunday, Dr Barchok refused to issue the press with sufficient details about Laboso's health, arguing that it was the prerogative of the family room give such updates.

For almost two months, Laboso has been receiving treatment in London and India with the family choosing to go silent about the disease she's suffering from.

"The state of her health is strictly a family affair, we cannot purport to speak for them. She should be given the support she needs and we should not intrude into their privacy," Dr Barchok told journalists in his office two weeks ago

Laboso took over from Isaac Ruto in 2017 and has largely remained silent in most of political activities in the country. She served as Sotik MP from 2008.

Besides Laboso, Governors John Nyagarama (Nyamira), Cyprian Awiti (Homa Bay) and Anyang Nyong'o of Kisumu have all been treated out of Kenya.

For Nyagarama, be spent there months in the US from May 2018. His deputy Amos Nyaribo was also indisposed in India for there months from September 2018.

Dr Laboso returned home on Sunday and is said to be still under the surveillance of doctors. She was a lecturer at Egerton University prior to her venture in politics.

"The governor arrived in the country this morning, and would be continuing with treatment. She needs our prayers and support," said Dr Hillary Barchok, the deputy governor.
