According to the communications director of the Nakuru County government, Mrs Beatrice Obwocha, the hospital bills of all the injured were fully catered for by the county government.

"These pupils have recovered fully, they had shown signs of trauma when they were admitted here on Thursday but they are now okay, the others are responding well to treatment and will be discharged soon," said Nakuru County Chief Officer Samuel Kingori in a video posted on Facebook.

Three of the more than 50 pupils in Mkulima primary Kuresoi North were struck and killed by lightning following the heavy rains experienced in the region last week.
