Duale has termed the claims being speculated on some sections of the media as false and malicious.

According to the National Assembly Leader of Majority, Jubilee Party is not party to the malicious claims.

He argues that those making the claims are only exercising their right to an opinion.

In an interview with a local daily on Wednesday, Duale said that President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto will not be destructed from their development agenda.

He said that President Kenyatta is working on his legacy, noting that they will fight any attempts to destruct him.

“As far as I know, those are mere propaganda calculated at derailing the Jubilee government development agenda,” he said.

Duale, however, said that people have a right to make opinions, adding that the same should not be used to derail the government.

The Garissa MP said that President Kenyatta and DP Ruto are in good terms and will not allow malicious people to destruct them.

There are speculations that some Mt Kenya MPs are pushing to extend president Kenyatta’s term in 2022.

A section of Mt Kenya MPs is said to have met in Naivasha where they mooted the proposal.

The MPs claim that President Kenyatta is too young to retire and that a position should be created for him in 2022.

President Uhuru Kenyatta in an interview with CNN has, however, said that he is not interested in extending his term after 2022.

“I am not interested. Even if such an offer comes, I will not take it, president Kenyatta told Richard Quest, a CNN journalist.
