Kisumu City will next month play host to this year’s edition of the annual RiverWood Academy Awards.
The awards gala will be held at the Acacia Premier Hotel on September 15, 2018.
On Thursday, Aug 02, 2018, Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o received a delegation from Riverwood Ensemble, a local film industry association, that organizes the awards.
The delegation led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the River Wood awards Mwaniki Mageria, briefed the Governor on the plans for the forthcoming awards gala.

Thanks @NikiMags for leading the troops!” the Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua posted on his twitter page.
RiverWood Academy awards is an annual Awards Gala Ceremony that was established in 2014 by RiverWood Ensemble Film makers Association Secretariat.
It was initiated as a commemoration ceremony to bring together film stake holders and players of the Film and television industry, with an aim of encouraging, empowering and motivating motion picture story tellers to narrate the Kenyan story.
All this is done towards helping preserve and maintain Kenya’s rich and diverse culture.
