In an emotional and deeply moving tweet, Lindah revealed how she had to travel to Nairobi with her late father from Kisumu where they used to stay.

The two made the journey hoping that she would get a chance at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC). Unfortunately, she didn't get a chance and they had to go back to Kisumu.

The failure to secure his daughter a chance at KIMC weighed heavily on the dad's heart who was broken.

As they went back, Linda says the dad assured her that she would one day achieve her dreams of becoming an anchor.

"I really wanted to be an Anchor. We lived in Kisumu by then. So we took a bus to Nrb. There was an intake at KIMC. We didn't even get a chance for an interview. His heart was broken. He said 'You will be an anchor one day I promise'. Rest in peace daddy, miss u so much #FathersDay," the news anchor's tweet read.

Today, Lindah Oguttu is one of Kenya's most respected journalists.

She worked for NTV as a reporter before rising through the ranks to become a news presenter and would later join the Standard Media Group-owned KTN.
